Whitney and Ryan were married on October 1st, with a ceremony and reception at Lake Paupac Lodge in Pocono, PA.
These two met through mutual friends at their country club and were friends for years before they decided to meet up at a bar on a weeknight to catch up—just as friends. They hadn’t seen each other all summer, and by the second drink, they realized that they were interested in each other!
Ryan is a spectacular golfer who plays competitively in tournaments through spring, summer, and fall, while Whitney is a theater nerd who has been a lead in the Gilbert and Sullivan company’s productions for the past two summers, performing in front of sold-out theaters! Both of them love that the other is passionate and competitive about their hobbies and support each other in their efforts to keep growing and practicing. Whitney loves to cheer on Ryan from the 18th green, and Ryan is always front and center on opening night.
On the day of the wedding, my second shooter, Josh, and I headed to the lodge—a specially chosen venue, since Whitney spent her summers there with her family. I was with the girls, while Josh was with the guys, before we met up for a first look and then formals and bridal party pictures. At one point, before getting ready, Whitney gave both of her parents meaningful cards. It was a truly touching and emotional moment!Thankfully, the rain held off until the end of the night, though the ceremony and ketubah signing was held inside—but there was gorgeous fog, and I loved the haunting nature of several of the images I was able to get. After cocktails on the back porch, there were speeches as well as a hilarious cake cutting. It was the perfect ending to a touching day.
Ryan & Whitney, thank you so much for letting me capture this amazing day for you! I wish you both nothing but happiness together.
